In vogue is an expression which expresses the status of living in the trend of modern fashion. But it is not only fahion, it is a liefestyle, a lifefeeling. A music band which embodied the meaning of the expression in vogue was the band en Vogue. En Vogue was founded in 1988 by the american hitproducers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy,who were members of the diskogroup Club Nouveau. The originalcast consists of the once Miss Black California Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Dawn Robinson and Terry Ellis, in which the actual cast from 2006 without Dawn Robinson still and again all originalmembers are active together with the new entrent Rhona Bennett.
En Vogue have sold worldwide more than 18 million albums and singles. They have won seven MTV Video Music Awardsmore than any other girlgroup in the MTV history. The group was choosen by the billboard magazine to the secondsuccessful group in the 1990th
The famoust songs were the titles My Lovin, Free Your Mind, Whatta Man and Don’t Let Go.
2004 was the last album published. It was called Soul Flower. One year later, in the year 2005, the group got a Grammy Nominiee for their teamwork with Stevie Wonder and Prince on the common Single So What The Fuss.
In Oktober 2007 a new single Glamorous as a collaboration with the belgish singer Natalia was published in the BeNeLux-Staates. 2008 En Vogue did two sold-out concerts in the sportpalais in Antwerpen. Another special guest was Shaggy. The concertduo was called Natalia Meets En Vogue feat. Shaggy 2008.
Everybody who wanted to be in vogue at this time dressed like the girls from the group, bought their album and sang their songs.
